Reasons for Keeping Your Junk in Your Garage
Does your house resemble New Orleans after it has been hit by the very powerful hurricane Katrina? Surely, with its messy look and disorganized theme, it would make you want to run away and cringe in shame. If your home sadly reminds you of a shabby place that is fit for hobos and vagrants, then maybe it’s time you do something about the entire situation. You can take charge and start Operation Clean Up.
Though this will seem like a daunting task at first, you only have to break down the list of things that needs to be done in order to achieve a sense of accomplishment. It will keep you from getting burned out. Therefore, you have to concentrate and remain dedicated so that your house will look livable once again. Remain focused on the end result and you will survive to tell the tale.
The first thing that you should do is to gather all your junk and put them in a single place. If you are at a loss as to where the perfect place is, you might try looking at the garage. The succeeding paragraphs will tell you the benefits of keeping your junk in the garage.
A garage has enough space to accommodate a cabinet or two. This is where you will arrange boxes of equipments that are currently not being used. Examples would be seasonal items like an inflatable children’s pool, skis and other winter gears, sports balls and rackets. You may label the boxes for easy reference. Post them in a prominent place. Not only will your home be clutter-free, you will also have the serenity because you know that you can easily locate everything that you need without wasting valuable time and effort.
The second important reason for stashing your junk in the garage is that it is a safe and secure place. You won’t have to worry about the harmful elements damaging your things because it is enclosed in a room. Just ensure that draft is minimized to slow down the aging process of all the things stored there.
Your items will also be hands-off to dangerous people like burglars or robbers because the garage is a safe area especially if it’s locked. Only one or two people must have access to the key to limit possible break-ins. This would also prevent misunderstandings later on if a particular member of the household can’t find an item he is looking for. There will be less suspects in this is the case.
Third, if you keep your so-called junk in the garage, you can save a few precious bucks. You may be curious as to how this is possible. Well, most people don’t realize that they actually have something worthy to use so they rush to the nearest mall to buy new things. However, if you have a list of the things you own, you might consider reusing and recycling them. The economic crisis today must convince you to tighten your belts and buy only what’s essential. Learn to maximize the use of all your properties so that your purchasing power will be stretched to its full limit.
So there you have it, ladies and gentlemen! Hopefully, aside from housing your car, the aforementioned reasons will convince you to add another purpose to your garage.
