The development of Yamaha motorcycles is one that happened quite accidentally. In 1953 the company was developing a selection of other products. They were searching for a use for idle bits of equipment that had once been used to make propellers for airplanes. The ideas for this equipment included stitching machines, auto parts, scooters, all terrain cars, and motorcycles. The decision was made to concentrate on manufacturing bikes due to the market requirement for them.

The 1st Yamaha bike was introduced in Aug of 1954, called the Yamaha YA-1. This bike featured a 2 stroke single cylinder engine. By July of 1955 Yamaha was making 200 quality motorbikes each month with a staff of 274 people. The YD-1 was introduced in 1957 as a racing bike. The bike swiftly became popular and was featured in the United States Catalina Grand Prix in 1958.

This gave Yamaha the invite to begin to sell its motorbikes in the U. S. with a personal dealer in California. To further attract sales in the United States, Yamaha Motor Co. USA was established in 1977. In 1959 Yamaha introduced the idea of offering a converter kit to customers. This authorized the motorcycle to be utilized for both street riding and motocross racing.

By 1960 Yamaha was producing 135,000 bikes each year. 1965 saw the advancement of no longer having to mix oil with gas due to the automatic oiling system. By 1973 Yamaha was selling more than 1 million motorcycles every year worldwide.

In the 1970’s they commenced working on developing 4 stroke models to contest with other makers. The results were faster motorcycles that met emissions rules and were even more economical than the 2 stroke models. Nonetheless they also realized the ability to continue selling 2 stroke models to customers as well. Lots of other makers focused only on four strokes, so Yamaha was able to meet the wants of that target audience.

1974 brought the introduction of the YZ250. This model quickly became the largest selling motocross bike because it featured a single horizontal rear suspension system. Yamaha built a racing track right next to the plant, permitting them to continuously study the quality and capabilities of their products.

Yamaha created one of the fastest racing bike models in 1985 with the introduction of the V-Max. This was classed as a muscle bike, with power that was not for the beginning rider. They continue to supply some of the swiftest bikes on the market both for street riding and for racing.

Yamaha has never been satisfied to simply stop when they had a nice thing going. They always had a vision of achieving more and to strive to further customer satisfaction. The visions and philosophies of the Corporation have proved to be efficacious in every aspect of motorcycle production. The indisputable fact that they offer so many different models means the buyer has the opportunity to find the exact bike they are looking for from a brand name they know they can trust to offer them a quality product.

While some of their models of bikes haven’t sold well, most of them have. Yamaha has always targeted on the way ahead for bikes while bearing in mind what purchasers are needing. They have been ready to diversify their developments, and it has paid off by allowing them to reach a large piece of the motorcycle market without endangering their vision.

Today, Yamaha is the second biggest motorbike manufacturer in the world behind Harley-Davidson. They carry on making fast, trustworthy motorcycles that clients around the globe are content to own. They also turn out bikes that have won more races than any other brand on the market. Their variety and dedication to making quality motorbikes that meet the needs of the patron have kept them a top seller in this growing industry. Yamaha dealers can be found around the globe, supplying a complete range of bike models to suit your tastes.

Planning to get a motorcycle soon? Then why not look at used Yamaha motorcycles online? There are different models available, each offering great savings for a budget conscious like you. Really in this tight economy, getting a used motorcycle makes a sound decision. Try to check online and you’ll see used items still in very good condition. Although you may have doubts at first, but later on, you’ll realize that used motorcycles being sold online will give you that opportunity to take advantage of cheap yet still in excellent condition motorcycles.

Used Yamaha motorcycles are widely available online these days. As a matter of fact, a lot of people have already experienced online shopping convenience when it comes to buying their dream Yamaha motorcycle. They chose from the wide option of Yamaha V Star, TT, Road Star, DT 100, Royal Star, Virago, Vimax, and other Yamaha models. And you can very much experience this convenience too.

However, here’s one important piece of reminder: when buying online, see to it that you compare the different options first before placing your bid. The descriptions and actual images of the motorcycle will serve as your guide in comparing. But if you have questions like how long it has been used, better call the seller or send an email.

However, there is one major down side when you plan to buy a Yamaha motorcycle online. Since this is sold online, you won’t have that opportunity to test drive it or have it checked prior to buying, especially if it is only for shipping. So before you buy, might as well contact the seller if he/she is willing to have the item checked and have it pickup instead of shipped.

Buying used Yamaha motorcycles online can really give you more savings and convenience if you just know how to go about the process. So, before you head on to your nearest motorcycle shop, better check online first to find great bargains.

by Thomas Clausen

If you have ever ridden a motorcycle, and I am talking any motorcycle, for any type of extended ride or even a short yet high-speed drive on one. You know the importance of having a fairing on your bike. Aside from the fact that it stops you from being tossed around and buffeted by the wind as it beats you up. You also end up eating bugs like crazy and your fuel economy will suffer if you don’t happen to have one.

While the removal of the YAMAHA R6 FAIRING is not a terribly easy job, it is one that anyone with the proper common tools, some time and patience can accomplish with relative ease. You will need to remove it if you are deciding to replace the stock factory one with any one of the many after market fairings out there. This can give your bike a hugely custom look for much less than a new bike and you can get the one that actually is an extension of your needs and / or personality.

Even if you don’t plan to replace the fairing, you could need to remove it for other reasons as well-like painting the bike, cleaning, or doing certain maintenance and repair jobs on your bike. Before you start taking anything apart, go online and look at some of the many blogs on the Internet that can give you some tips and pointers on how to do this correctly. Or pull out your motorcycle manual. The important thing is to know in advance that if you grab hold of it wrong, you could easily crack this lightweight piece and end up having to replace an expensive part even if that wasn’t the original plan, so use caution.

A quick study of the YAMAHA R6 FAIRING reveals there are some small access points located periodically on the fairing. This is by design and provides the openings you need to do some routine maintenance work without actually removing the entire fairing. Be sure to use them if you can because they were put there to make things easier for you.

If you are unhappy with your current YAMAHA R6 FAIRING, you can locate after market models that range from minute and fairly inexpensive to rather costly yet infinitely more convenient replacements gears towards specific needs, which you may have found lacking on the factory fairing. No matter the reason, the fairing is a huge part of the looks of your bike and also a large part of the stability of the bike at higher speeds and the aerodynamic quality of the unit and hence, the overall riding experience.

Replacing the fairing isn’t an extremely difficult task, but if you plan to do it on your own, go slow, follow the guidelines exactly, and work on the project when you have the time and patience to devote to it. Since you’ll have to unhook the blinkers and do other disassembly, you’ll need to keep a level head and ensure you reassemble everything correctly so your bike will still be a safe, stable ride. But when you’re finished, think about how great your bike will look and how great you’ll feel because you did the work yourself.
